Owners Ann Sweeney and Betsy Merklein started their business
on the craft show
circuit. In 1992
they chose their
first location on
Commerce Street In
Historic Occoquan,
Virginia, and opened
the doors to
Personally Yours to
the public full
time.
In 2006
Personally Yours
moved and expanded
their business to
the historic bank
building at 308 Mill
St. Now their
business occupies
two floors with 7
rooms offering an
extensive line of
home accessories and
gifts including
reproduction
furniture, wrought
iron, tin lighting,
candles and candle
pans, wreaths,
stationery and
cards, framed prints
and seasonal
decorations.
Many items are
created by the
owners. Ann is the
resident artist,
always creating new
and exciting works
for your pleasure.
Betsy is the
woodworker making
many of the items
painted for the
shop. Specialties
include antique
breadboards, buoys,
baskets, lamps,
bowls and boxes
painted with their
original designs.
Services include
custom painting on
customer owned
pieces, lampshade
making, lamp wiring
and wall murals.
Unique pieces are
offered for
anniversaries,
weddings, births and
graduations as well.
One of their most
popular items is the
seasonal wreath
pick. Stars,
pineapples,
cardinals, pumpkins,
angels, Santas and
nutcrackers are just
a few of the more
than 4 dozen painted
wood shapes used for
display in wreaths.
There are picks for
every season,
holiday and
occasion. Another
must see is their
own "Occoquan" print
available unframed,
signed and numbered.
Matching note cards
are also offered.
Personally Yours
is open 7 days a
week. Customer
service is a
specialty with a
trained staff to
help in any way.
Several special
events are hosted
each year including
a Spring Fling,
Annual Anniversary
Sale and Holiday
Open House.
